Okay, so you’ve already listened, right? You’d subscribed and got a notification right on your phone first thing in the morning and got hyped, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m just kidding. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about the new episode! It feels good to have Intelligame Radio back, and I know there are lots of great conversations out there to have. I know an hour-long show can be a commitment though, so no worries if you’re saving it for the weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love podcasts, though. Here are three of my favorite (outside of gaming) that I’d recommend to absolutely anyone:

  • On the Media. A weekly NPR news show, Brooke Gladstone and Bob Garfield dive into the people who create the current events: the journalists, public figures, and others responsible for shaping so much of our discourse.
  • Reveal. Some of the deepest, hardest-hitting investigative journalism out there. Another NPR show, the crew travels around the country to peel back the curtain and show the human costs of the situations in the headlines…as well as many situations that aren’t.
  • The Anthropocene Reviewed. I’ve never read any of John Green’s books (Turtles All the Way Down, The Fault in Our Stars, etc), but I’ve followed the YouTube channel he shares with his brother, Hank. Reviewing “facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale,” John’s mesmerizing way with words and deep insights turn a “review” of Auld Lang Syne into a brilliant blending of memoir and philosophy. There’s only one episode a month, but they are so worth it.

I get that sharing a podcast is like saying “You’ve gotta watch The Wire” or something like that. But I love my podcasts. They’re an amazing medium, and I’m thankful for the ability to make one of my own. I shared this week’s episode with Jenny, and that was such a privilege too. Get excited to see more of her on the show in the future!
